The town of Parikia, located on the western side of the island, is the capital and main port of Paros. It is a very charming place, full of traditional Cycladic-style houses, narrow streets, promenades by the sea and windmills. Parikia has an extremely good infrastructure in terms of hotel accommodation, entertainment and dining venues, catering to all types of visitor.
It is home of the famous Ekatontapiliani Church, which is one of the finest monuments of Christianity in Greece. Other Parikia sites include a Frankish castle, ancient sanctuaries, Byzantine churches and museums. Near the capital are several stunning sandy beaches where visitors can spend hours relaxing and swimming in the shimmering blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
To truly experience the Parikia Town, visitors can wander through the quaint streets, buy knick-knacks at the small shops, have a delicious meal at a traditional taverna by the sea and go partying at night at one of the many clubs and bars in town.

The settlement of Naoussa, located in a bay area on the northern side of Paros, is considered one of the most picturesque towns in the Cyclades, as it offers a spectacular view of the Venetian Castle ruins, the charming fishing port with small colorful boats and the sea. The whole town is built around Naoussa Bay, creating a half-moon of white-washed houses and Cycladic churches.
Naoussa is a very popular holiday destination and has a greatly developed tourist infrastructure, offering a wide range of hotels, studios, rooms for rent, suites and traditional homes, as well as countless restaurants, tavernas, ouzeries, bars, cafés and nightclubs. Many of the traditional fishing storage rooms have been transformed into posh shops and boutiques that sell anything from souvenirs and beach gear to designer clothes and accessories.
Some of the finest beaches on Paros Island are located in Naoussa and the surrounding area, including the renowned beaches of Kolimbithres, Monastiri, Lageri and Santa Maria. While staying in Naoussa, a visit to the Venetian castle, the small Church of Agios Nikolaos, the Monastery of Agios Athanasios and its Museum, and the Mycenaean Acropolis near Kolimbithres Beach is a must. It is worth extending your holidays in Naoussa to include the 23rd of August, when the Reenactment of the Pirate’s Raid “Koursariki Nychta” festival takes place.
AGAIRIA, PAROS
Agairia is a traditional verdant Paros village, located inland, on the southern side of Paros. It offers a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape and of Antiparos Island. Agairia is ideal for walking and trekking, as it has scenic paths that lead to the monasteries of Agios Theodoros and Agios Ioannis Tripiti.
ALIKI, PAROS
The village of Aliki, situated on the southern coast of Paros, 10 kilometers from Parikia, is a lovely seaside town with a pristine beach. It is the ideal spot for family vacations and for those who wish to spend their holidays in a quiet, peaceful area. Aliki Village offers several hotels, apartments and rooms for rent, as well as seafood tavernas and cafes by the sea front. The wonderful “Skorpios” Folklore Museum is located in Aliki.
AMBELAS, PAROS
Ambelas is a small fishing village situated on the southeastern coast of Paros. It has a beautiful, sheltered beach, lined with traditional tavernas, serving fresh fish and local delicacies. Ambelas village is recommended to those who want a quiet vacation spot, close to Naoussa. A variety of hotel accommodation is available in Ambelas.
DRIOS, PAROS
The settlement of Drios lies on the southeastern coast of Paros. It one of the most attractive Paros villages, as it possesses lush vegetation, flowing waters and stunning beaches. The famous windsurfing beaches of Chryssi Akti and Nea Chryssi Akti are located close to Drios, making it a popular resort for windsurfing lovers. In Drios visitors can see the Ancient Shipyard, which is located on the beach of the settlement.
KOSTOS, PAROS
The traditional village of Kostos is situated at the center of Paros Island. It is intensely Cycladic in character, with stark white houses, quaint alleyways and a beautiful main square with an arched church. Historically, Kostos village was used as a look out post, due to its panoramic view of the island. It is also the home town of Athanasios of Parios, the great national scholar and philosopher of Greece.
LEFKES, PAROS
Lefkes is one of the most picturesque Paros villages, situated in the center of the island. It is built amphitheatrically and has traditional white-washed houses and marble-paved streets among olive, almond, elm and pine trees. The architectural style of Lefkes is amazing; a combination of neoclassical and Cycladic features. From the highest point of the village, visitors have a unique view of the island. Apart from the village itself, Lefkes is also famous for its marble Church of Agia Triada and the Monastery of Agios Ioannis Kaparos. MARPISSA, PAROS
Marpissa is another very charming village that retains many of its traditional characteristics. It is located on a hill in southeastern Paros. The Cathedral of Metamorfosi (Transfiguration) is built on the top of the hill and beneath it are small white houses. In Marpissa, visitors can see the monuments of Kefalos Hill, which include a 15th century castle and the Monastery of Agios Antonios. A couple of kilometers from Marpissa are the two beautiful beaches of Piso Livadi and Logaras. The village has a few taverns and cafes, as well as rooms for rent and apartments.
PISO LIVADI, PAROS
Situated on the southeastern coast of Paros is the seaside village of Piso Livadi. It is a scenic town, with a small port where fishing boats dock and traditional tavernas serve Parian delicacies. Piso Livadi has developed into a popular holiday resort and is a good alternative to the crowded settlements of Parikia and Naoussa. The village has a long, sandy beach that is edged with tamarisk trees. From Piso Livadi, boats depart for Naxos, Mykonos, Ios, Santorini, Amorgos, Dilos and Antiparos. It has a good tourism infrastructure, including hotels, studios, apartments, rooms for rent and suites for all needs and budgets. Located near Piso Livadi are the beaches of Chryssi Akti and Nea Chryssi Akti.
POUNTA (PUNTA), PAROS
Pounta is a favorite holiday getaway, particularly for windsurfing aficionados and the younger crowd who want to be close to the endless partying at Pounta Beach. From Pounta, visitors are offered a superb view of Antiparos Island. Boats depart daily from the port of Pounta to Antiparos. The Pounta Beach complex includes swimming pools, bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, beach, water sport facilities, etc. Rooms for rent are available around Pounta Beach.
