One of the favorite pastimes in Mykonos (Myconos, Mikonos) is swimming and sunbathing at the islands beautiful beaches. The popular image of a beach on Mykonos is a jam-packed strip of sand. While it is true of some Mykonos beaches, you can also find quiet ones. There is a wide variety to choose from: some are less-frequented and secluded, others are crowded, while some beaches are sandy and others rocky.

AGIA ANNA BEACH – KALAFATIS BEACH, EASTERN MYKONOS
Agia Anna Beach and Kalafatis Beach are long, sandy stretches, located on the eastern side of Mykonos, that are popular with windsurfers. Both beaches are relatively quiet and offer sunbathing and water sport facilities as well as a windsurfing and scuba diving school. Along Agia Anna and Kalafatis Beaches there is a variety of hotels, rooms for rent, apartments and studios, as well as restaurants, beach bars and fish taverns. This is the ideal beach on Mykonos for windsurfing aficionados. It is not frequented by swimmers and sunbathers due to the winds that blow in the area. Visitors of Ftelia Beach can dine at the restaurant that is located near the beach, which can only be reached by car.
