The settlement of Possidonia (Posidonia), lies in the southwestern part of Syros Island and is the most popular seaside resort of Syros. The town is also called Della Grazia (Delagratsia), the name of the Catholic Church Madonna della Grazia, in honour of the Holy Mother. The archaeological sites in the area support the belief that Posidonia was the second largest ancient city of Syros island. The place is ideal for vacations and offers spectacular environment of crystal clear waters, long sandy beaches, and palm trees.
