Santorini (Thira) is renowned for its exquisite beaches, some of which are distinctive in color due to the volcanic properties of the area. The most popular beaches on Santorini Island are: the Black Beaches in Kamari, Monolithos Perissa and Perivolos, the Red and White Beaches in Akrotiri and Amoudi Beach in Oia (Ia).


AKROTIRI RED BEACH WHITE BEACH, SOUTHWESTERN SANTORINI
The settlement of Akrotiri, famous for its ancient Minoan City ruins, is located near two of Santorini’s finest beaches: the Red Beach and the White Beach. The Red Beach is stunning due to the dramatic reddish cliffs and the grainy red sands. The White Beach got is name from the white cliffs that surround grey-black coarse sands, and can only be reached by boat. In the Red Beach area there are a number of hotels and rooms to let, as well as tavernas and cafés where visitors can relax after a day of swimming and sunbathing

AMOUDI BEACH, OIA (IA), NORTHWESTERN SANTORINI
Amoudi Beach is located below the settlement of Oia (Ia), at the foot of the cliff. It can be reached by steps and has many quaint fishing taverns and cafés. Impressive reddish rocks that surround the harbor and the clean waters, make it one of the more frequented beaches in Santorini, ideal for endless hours of relaxation and recreation, especially by the guests of Oia (Ia).

BAXEDES BEACH, NORTHERN SANTORINI
The beach of Baxedes, located in northern Santorini, is a lovely coarse sandy beach with crystal-clear waters and shade provided by the trees located on the beach. It is the ideal place for those who wish to stay away from the more frequented beaches of Santorini Island.

KAMARI BLACK BEACH, EASTERN SANTORINI
The sandy and pebbly Black Beach of Kamari is one of the most popular and well-developed Santorini Beaches. The Black Beach is very long and well-organized, lined with tavernas, restaurants, bars and cafés. An array of water sport facilities is also available. Near the beach are many hotels, apartments, rooms for rent and studios, accommodating the hundreds of people who choose Kamari as their vacation destination.

KOULOUMBO BEACH, NORTHERN SANTORINI
Kouloumbo is one of the finest beaches on the northeastern side of Santorini. The beach is sandy and offers shade for a great deal of the day. It is the ideal spot for visitors who wish to avoid the crowded beaches, as it is not organized.

MONOLITHOS BLACK BEACH, EASTERN SANTORINI
Monolithos Beach is an extension of Kamari Beach, located close to the airport. It has coarse grey sand, long chairs and umbrellas, and is ideal for families and quieter than the beaches of Kamari and Perissa. In Monolithos, visitors can find a wide range of tavernas, restaurants, cafés and bars, as well as hotel accommodation.

PERISSA BLACK BEACH, SOUTHEASTERN SANTORINI
Beneath Mt. Profitis Ilias, on the southwestern side of Santorini, is the fine black sandy beach of Perissa. It has very clean waters and is one of the most organized Santorini Beaches, with water sport facilities and a wide variety of dining and entertainment venues. Perissa is a very popular resort with numerous hotels, apartments and rooms for rent available to tourists.

PERIVOLOS BEACH, SOUTHEASTERN SANTORINI
Perivolos Beach is located just south of Perissa Beach. It is one of the more frequented beaches on the island and offers an array of bars, cafés and restaurants, as well as hotel accommodation. Perivolos is a grey sandy and pebbly beach that offers swimmers and sunbathers, pristine waters, long chairs, umbrellas and water sport facilities.

VLIHADA BEACH, SOUTHERN SANTORINI
South of Perivolos Beach is the beautiful beach of Vlihada. It is the perfect getaway for those who are staying on the eastern side of Santorini and wish to avoid the crowds at Kamari, Monolithos, Perissa and Perivolos Beaches. It has dark grey sands and is organized, offering umbrellas and long chairs. White cliffs protect the beach from harsh winds.


VOURVOULOS BEACH, NORTHEASTERN SANTORINI
Vourvoulos Beach, located on the northeastern coast of Santorini, is one of the less frequented beaches of the island. It is the ideal spot for visitors who want a secluded spot to relax and sunbathe. The beach has gray sands, a small fishing port and several dining venues.
